Silesia City Center triumphs as Investment Deal of the Year, while Marek Noetzel showcases NEPI Rockcastle’s resilience with Promenada Mall Bucharest at CEE Property Forum Events & News
Silesia City Center won Investment Deal of the Year above €200 million at last night’s CEE Property Forum & Awards Gala in Vienna, where Marek Noetzel, COO, and Tomasz Górski, Regional Asset Manager, represented NEPI Rockcastle and accepted the award. Acquired for €405 million, Silesia City Center stands as the largest retail transaction in CEE in 2024 and further strengthens our expanding Polish portfolio. Located in Katowice, this 88,400 sqm flagship asset maintains a strong tenant mix and serves a regional catchment of more than 2.2 million people.
🌆Building on the successes in our investment pipeline, in the Property Forum conference panel “Building Resilient Portfolios and Rethinking Investment Management Strategies”, Marek said: “Testing something that hasn’t been tested in the past, is one way to build resilience into your portfolio. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, but don’t make them twice.”
He pointed to the example of NEPI Rockcastle’s approx. €300 million Promenada Mall mixed-use extension and partial refurbishment of the actual mall in Bucharest, the largest retail development in CEE. NEPI Rockcastle is creating an additional 55,400 sqm GLA, including retail, 12,000 sqm of offices, a 10,000 sqm 4-star international business hotel, Romania’s first world-class commercial theatre and a premium sports club with swimming pool at the heart of the capital’s central business district.
